I had just moved into the complex and I was quite furious that he was playing his guitar, bass guitar and drums (oh yes, drums) upstairs. You can read the previous account here, to get a better understanding of how the situation started and progressed.

I last left off mentioning that I was going to give him a week, before I did anything else. Well, it started back up again, and I got so annoyed that I left a note on his door, basically saying, “Turn it down, or I will be forced to call the police. — Your Neighbor.”

I am happy to report that after several notes back and forth over the course of 2 weeks, we have exchanged cellphone numbers and email addresses and have come to an agreement. I am super thrilled about it — he can text me when he wants to play his drums or louder music, and I can always text him when I feel he’s being too noisy. It’s great, because he’ll be able to still play his instruments, and I’ll be able to enjoy a quiet space.

Thankfully, the situation has worked out in a positive way, but I know it could have turned bad. But now, I don’t have to worry about hating my space. Horrah! :)
