Cha-cha-cha-changing~

Well, you know that job I sometimes mention? That job just so happens to be with AOL — er, excuse me, Aol. You may have heard in the news that AOL is spinning off from Time Warner, and in the process has rebranded itself.

Now, the point of this post is not to talk about the new branding. Though, it’s really quite bad. But good for us Northern Virginia designers — we just learned today that we are all going to be axed by Q1 next year! Luckily, there is a package out that allows us to take a 3 month severance, instead of await our fates..

Point of this is to basically say, I am taking said severance, and may have more time on my hands for awhile. I’d really like to try contracting with some freelance on the side, but we will see. I just wanted to let all my readers out there know that things may pick up or die down a bit, depending on how busy I get. Or you know, if I decide to take a month off and just sleep.

This also means that DIY projects might come to a halt due to money, or may increase due to extra time. I guess we’ll see! Either way, wish me luck!

Update: About Page

Reworked the about page a bit. Nothing fancy, really. I added my mug to the page, reworded some things and added a new, ornery photo of Kira. Oh yes, I said ornery. Daddy would be proud. :)

I Promise I’m Not Dead…

So, how bad have I been with keeping this thing updated? Here I thought that I would be updating every couple of days and I can barely keep up with one post a week!

Things have gotten a bit crazy — work has been busier than usual, so I don’t have much free time to putz around on the blog; plus I’ve had to go to the world of retail for a part time job at the mall. Can we say ugh? I am not a retail person!

So, working 60 hours a week sort of puts the blog on the back burner. I’m hoping I can get some posts in here and there for the back log so that I don’t have this problem, but who knows. All I can say is that this is a hobby and I gotta do the adult thing, and stay on top of work work work!
