Manhattan Collection from Target
So in my never-ending search for furniture, I was browsing Target.com and came across their Manhattan collection. This collection ranges from dining furniture to a couple bedroom pieces to my favorites – the living room furniture.
Looking at the living room collection, you will see gorgeous, clean lines; neutral colors; and rich wood. This is mimicked throughout the entire collection and provides a great base for interior decorating and design. Rich, deep toned pillows with fun, modern patterns would work great with this collection, as well as cream colored accent pillows and throws. Interesting and modern decorations, like vases and sculptures would look lovely on the coffee, end and console tables.
My personal favorite item from this collection is the China Cabinet, as it would make a great makeshift bar, bookcase or as it’s namesake.

It’s a lovely, contemporary piece that would work good in almost any space – quietly sitting in the background serving many functions but still being very easy on the eyes.
I can see myself owning half of this collection: the coffee table, TV stand, two side tables and this cabinet. I am unsure of the furniture itself – it has wonderfully clean lines and would look nice, but after reading some of the reviews, I would be afraid of it’s lasting comfort.
As a whole, the collection is decently priced for it’s looks – but I wonder about durability and quality. These are ‘assemble-yourself’ pieces, so I would definitely take my time when assembling them and perhaps include some wood glue in those screw-holes. It seems a trend at Target, that their pieces are a hit or miss. I’m curious about their in-store availability for products, as I would prefer to buy in-store and be able to return if something is wrong. One of the reviewers said they bought their product online and while the in-store manager was more than happy to refund/exchange the item, the on-line manager refused! So while I would love to purchase a few pieces, I am wary.
Do you have any pieces from this collection? Do you know, from experience, what the quality of the build-it-yourself pieces is like?

I like the China Cabinet too, what a versatile piece!
Isn’t it? I can’t wait to one day get my paws on it! I can only hope it’s as pretty and sturdy in person as it is online.
